"Rick and I were enjoying a much needed vacation in Hawaii. My parents were babysitting and Rick's parents were running our business for us. Our home was in a nice neighborhood; no neighborhood watch, but we all looked out for one another. In summer, we mowed each other's lawns, in winter, shoveled each other's driveways - all of this so that during an absence our homes never looked empty. We didn't have a care in the world ... or so we thought!
While we were away, our hot water heater cracked. Water was leaking all over the carpet in our finished basement. The bottom of our wood paneling was soaking up water and so was our furniture. What a mess!!!
Messes can be cleaned up, however, this situation could have been a true disaster. The water level had risen high enough that it had drowned out the pilot light; we had natural gas seeping into our home. One spark and it could have all gone up in flames. How fortunate we were that Rick's parents decided to stop by the house after work one night just to take a look around. They were able to shut off the gas and start the cleaning process.
Rick and I have known Ken Langenhahn for several years and I think his business, WatchDOG, a home watch service is wonderful. I will never again worry about leaving my home unattended. Ken is a man of integrity. He is honest and dependable and I would be extremely comfortable entrusting him with the key to my home knowing that he is very capable of taking care of whatever situation may arise."
